Qualifying as Chartered Secretary

Candidates who have completed the CIS International Qualifying Board Examination (below), gained the necessary work experience and who present the requisite character will be admitted as a Member of the Institute and become a 'Chartered Secretary'.  The CIS International Qualifying Scheme is a rigorous course.  Each qualification along the continuum renders the graduate employable and when accumulated, prepare governance professionals and accounting officers for the intense demands of the role of Chartered Secretary.

Continuing Professional Development ensures that all governance professionals and accounting officers including Chartered Secretaries are able to remain at the forefront of governance issues.

There is currently a shortage of qualified and experienced Chartered Secretaries, with demand on the increase in light of new legislative and regulatory requirements.  This means that Chartered Secretaries can command excellent remuneration packages.
